Summer Housing
Who's Eligible:
Summer Housing is available to any student between the ages of 17-25 who is:
- Currently enrolled at UC Irvine
- Enrolled in a UC Irvine summer session class
- Enrolling at UC Irvine for Fall 2009
- Enrolled in the 2009 Freshman Summer Start Program (FSSP)
- Employed within a UC Irvine Department
*Space is limited and assignments are made on a first come, first served basis.
About The Community:
Arroyo Vista is a community of 40 houses designed to accommodate 16 to 32 residents:
- Fully furnished houses complete with all major kitchen appliances, spacious living room with cable TV, study room and coin-operated laundry facilities. Students provide their own cookware, dishes, utensils, and linens.
- Utilities and housekeeping services (for common areas only) are included. Phone service and cleaning of bedrooms is the responsibility of residents.
- Each bedroom is furnished with a bed, desk, chair, bookshelf, wardrobe, and under bed drawers for each resident, as well as internet and cable TV connections.
- Double occupancy rooms are the standard for summer housing in Arroyo Vista. Some rooms in Arroyo Vista contain furniture for triple occupancy, however, summer occupancy will be limited to two students per room.

Depending on summer housing demand a limited number of single occupancy rooms may be available. Students who only want single occupancy can apply, but may or may not be offered a housing contract. Students who would accept a double but prefer a single should apply for a double and apply to the "Singles wait-list." For more information on single and double occupancy during the summer, email the Arroyo Vista Housing Office at AVoffice@uci.edu.
- Community space includes: The AV Community Center (with pool and foosball tables, cable TV, a photocopier, and computer lab); Two outdoor basketball courts and a sand volleyball court.
- Walking distance to the Anteater Recreation Center (ARC), a grocery store, restaurants, post office, Starbucks, banks, video store, and other retail stores.
- The UCI campus shuttle/bus service does not run during the summer.
How To Apply:
You can apply to Arroyo Vista Summer Session Housing online using the link below beginning April 20, 2009.
Contracts are available for pick up at the Arroyo Vista Office the next business day after you apply.
If applicants choose to have their contracts mailed, the Arroyo Vista Office mails the contract the next business day after receiving the application.

*When applying for housing, FSSP students should sign up for Summer Session II and enter "FSSP" as their middle name, which will allow us to modify the SS II contract to fit FSSP dates listed above.
Pre-Summer and Pre-Fall addendums are available.
Pre-Summer Housing (June 14-20) is only available for individuals who are:
- Currently living in Arroyo Vista, and
- Purchase a Summer Session I or Full Summer AV Housing contract.
Pre-Fall Housing (September 10-19) is only available for individuals who:
- Hold a 2009-10 Arroyo Vista Housing contract, and
- Purchase a Summer Session II or Full Summer AV Housing contract.

Students currently living in Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. Territories, or outside of the U.S.A. are encouraged to submit their summer housing contract information online as early as possible, but no later than May 15, 2009.
