Fall 2006 through Fall 2007
Project Overview: See description above
Fall 2007 Status:

Upgrades in eight halls targeted in Middle Earth were completed during summer 2006, and an additional five halls were completed during summer 2007.  All fire alarms meet 2004 fire code as certified by the UCI Fire Marshal.  Strobes and horns are installed in all bedrooms and public areas.  Horns sounding at 110 decibels were installed throughout the buildings in order to sound at 70 decibels at pillow level.  Funding has not yet been identified for fire alarms in the Middle Earth Housing Office, Pippin Commons, Bucklebury, and the Academic Resource Center.

Upgrades in all other housing buildings will be considered in conjunction with major renovations.
