Palo Verde

Palo Verde Organic Garden

The community garden is open all year to Palo Verde residents. Residents can plant and harvest vegetables, flowers, herbs, fruit, etc. The garden is located behind the 8200 building. This garden is strictly an organic garden: no pesticides, chemical fertilizers or herbicides are allowed. Residents interested in acquiring a plot should contact Katie Furuyama at kfuruyam[at]uci[dot]edu for additional information or submit the Membership Agreement Form to the Palo Verde Housing office.

Ethernet Connections

Ethernet connections are installed in each apartment. Direct access to the UCI campus internet "backbone" is provided through the ethernet connections. Additional information concerning the Housing Residential Computer Network can be found by visiting the Resnet website.

Residents must supply their own ethernet card and software for their PC or Macintosh. Ethernet cards may be purchased at your local computer store or the UCI Bookstore. Palo Verde provides -- free of charge while supplies last-- a 20-foot twisted pair cable which connects a resident's computer to the ethernet connection in the appropriate bedroom.

Community Clubhouse

Palo Verde Club HouseThe Palo Verde clubhouse, community room, and lounge and conference room can be reserved -- free of charge -- by Palo Verde residents for special events, meetings, and social gatherings. You must contact the Palo Verde Housing Office to make reservations. In addition, if you are planning to serve alcohol at your event, a request for alcohol permit must be completed no less than seven (7) days prior to the event.
