Graduate Housing for
Non-guaranteed students

Eligible students who are not housed through the graduate housing guarantee or who miss the application deadline can apply for the housing wait-list.  Housing offers will be made as space becomes available.  Before you apply: Check your eligibility for housing Read the Frequently Asked Questions for detailed information regarding housing for non-guaranteed students. To submit a housing application to Verano Place and/or Palo Verde, complete the following steps: Download the Graduate and Family Housing application Mail your completed application with a check for the $20.00 non-refundable application fee to: Housing Cashier G459 Student Center (4th Floor) University of California, Irvine Irvine, CA 92697-6175 Make check payable to Regents-UC. Checks or money orders must be payable through a U.S. bank. Single student who are interested in applying for Vista del Campo or VdC Norte can find information and download an application from their Web site.

Housing Waitlist: Verano Place & Palo Verde

Housing assignments are made from the wait-list as spaces become available.  Applicants in Category 1 are assigned housing before applicants in Category 2 (see category descriptions below).  Within each category, assignments are made according to application date.   

The time between application and placement varies and depends upon a number of factors (i.e., number of residents vacating, number of applicants, assignment category, demand for specific apartment types, and desired move-in quarter requested). 

Category 1:

• Doctoral students, Masters of Fine Arts students and medical students (excluding medical residents and interns).
• All students with children (under 18 years of age) who live with them.

 Category 2:

• Terminal Masters students (except MFA)
• Credential program students
• Undergraduates who are married or in a domestic partnership without children.
• Undergraduates 25 years of age or older without children.
