UCI Student Housing Payment Information
IMPORTANT NOTICE Beginning Tuesday, February 19, 2008, all Housing Administrative Services staff and the Housing Cashier (currently at the intersection of E. Peltason and Pereira) will be relocated to the Student Center 4th Floor. | Parents: When calling or emailing Student Housing, please note that we are unable to discuss payment information with anyone except the primary contract holder (student). If the primary contract holder was under the age of 18 at the time of contract signing, we may also disclose information to the secondary contract holder (co-signer.)

Students and Parents often have questions about their housing payments, especially at the beginning of the school year. The most Frequently Asked Questions and answers are listed below to provide specific information about housing payments. - Where do I make my housing payment? Can I pay by mail?
- The Housing Cashier is moving to the Student Center. After February 14, 2008, Housing payments will no longer be accepted at the old Housing Administrative Services building and the payment drop box at that location will be disabled.
Housing payments are made to the Housing Cashier located in the new Housing Administrative Services lobby, located on the 4th floor of the Student Center (G458). All payments should be in the form of check or money order, payable to "UC Regents". NO CASH PAYMENTS WILL BE ACCEPTED.
You may drop off a Housing payment in the Housing Administrative Services lobby drop box, Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Payment drop-offs cannot be made at any other time. If you cannot make it to our office during regular business hours, please mail your payments to the address listed at the top of the page. Do NOT drop payments in the Central Cashier drop box.
If you need to see a Housing Cashier, they are available Monday - Friday,
9:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
The student's ID number must be clearly written on the check or money
order. Housing payments must be accompanied by a payment coupon (PDF, 6.62Kb), showing your name, student ID#, telephone contact number and payment amount. Payment coupons are available in the Housing Lobby on the 4th floor of the Student Center.
[NOTE: You must notify Student Housing directly if your permanent address has changed since your admission to UC Irvine.]
You can mail your payment, pay at the Housing Cashiers window, or send your payment and coupon (PDF, 6.62Kb) via intercampus mail. Be sure to mail your payment in a sealed envelope addressed to the "Housing Cashier, G459 Student Center, Irvine, CA 92697-6175". You should mail your payment at least 3 days prior to the payment due date.
Mailed payments (USPS or intercampus mail) that are received late will be assessed a late fee. Late fees will not be excused by claims of "mail delay" or "lost payments". If you are concerned about your payment arriving on-time, we suggest that you drop it off in-person to the Housing Cashier located on the 4th floor of the Student Center.

- Are my student housing charges included in my Zot Bill?

NO, housing payments are not included in your Zot Bill.
Housing payments are made separately to Housing Administrative Services. See "Where do I make my housing payment?" below for instructions on making your housing payment. - Do I need to pay my bill before I move in? When is my first housing payment due?

Undergraduate community residents do NOT need to make their first housing payment before moving into student housing.
Gruaduate & Family Housing residents must pay their security deposit and first month's pro-rated rent before move in.
The chart below gives due dates for each community.

*There is a 10-day grace period after the due date for paying rent. Late fees are charged beginning on the 11th day. - Can I make housing payments by credit card or debit card?

Credit cards and debit cards cannot be used to make your housing payment.
Housing payments must be made by check or money order, payable to "UC Regents". [NOTE to International Students: Payments must be in US dollars in the form of an international money order, or a check, payable through a U.S. bank.]
Always write your Student ID# on your check or money order to ensure proper crediting of your account. - Does my financial aid pay for housing? What if I have not received my financial aid check yet?
- Some (but not all) financial aid awards include funds to cover housing costs. Contact Financial Aid at (949) 824-8262 (or go to the Financial Aid Office in room 102 of Aldrich Hall) to find out if your financial aid award covers housing expenses, and when to expect your financial aid check. Financial Aid does not make housing payments for students. Once you receive your financial aid check, you should make your housing payment. If your check is scheduled to arrive after the housing payment deadline, contact Housing Accounts Counselor at shac@uci.edu to request a deferment. Always include your Student ID# in any correspondence with Student Housing.

Please NOTE:- Res-hall, Arroyo Vista, and Campus Village residents:
- Reservation fees paid when you submit your contract are down payments on your total contract amount, not refundable deposits;
- Monthly rates are based on a total contract amount for the year; June amounts reflect the contract balance, not a per diem pro-ration of your usual monthly rent.
- Res-hall residents:
- The cost of your meal plan is included in your housing payment
- You will be charged for the meal plan you selected on the online Residence Hall Personal Information Form. Please contact a Student Housing Accounts Counselor at shac@uci.edu if you would like to verify your meal plan selection before making a housing payment.
- Res-hall, Arroyo Vista, and Campus Village residents:
- Will my Reservation Fee be returned when I move out?

Reservation fees are paid when you submit your contract, and they hold your space in
Student Housing, and act as a down payment on your total contract amount.
The reservation fee is NOT a security deposits, and it is not refunded to you when you move out. - What if I cannot make my housing payment on time?

If for some reason you cannot make your housing payments by the due date, you should
contact the Student Housing Accounts Counselor, in Housing Administrative Services
by email at shac@uci.edu or phone (949) 824-3333 to apply for a
deferment or alternative payment plan.
To avoid late fees, you must contact the Student Housing Accounts Counselor and make your arrangements before the end of the grace period (10 days after payment is due).
