Called to Order: 7:35 p.m.

  1. Roll Call - Mila

  2. Welcome – Martin

  3. Cluster Updates:

    • Esther reported for the Academic Cluster: Tuesday, Nov. 12. 7:30PM, Gandalf´s Dr. Janet Loxley will be speaking on homesickness issues often experienced by college freshmen. Students will have the opportunity to write home. We will provide the stationary, and snacks, and ME will pay for postage.
    • Nimish reported for the Career Cluster: On Campus Job Workshop Tuesday, November 19th from 8 to 9 p.m.
    • Mindy reported for the Health and Wellness Cluster: Stress Management/Massage Workshop December 4th, in Gandalf’s.
    • Karen reported for the Identity Development Cluster: Panel Potluck called “DARE TO SHARE” Thursday, November 14th @ 6 p.m. in Crickhollow. Staff and others will volunteer their racial/ethnic stories, and provide a sample dish/appetizer from their respective ethnic culture
    • Mila reported for the Interpersonal Relationships Cluster: Newly Roomie Game, November 21st from 7 to 9 p.m. in Gandalf’s
    • Martin reported for the Philosophy of Life Cluster: Spirtuallity panel and fishbowl Monday, Nov. 18th, 7:30 p.m. in Gandalf’s. Six different religions will be represented with a facilitator/moderator.


  4. Committee Sorting Ceremony: Each delegate was “sorted” into their committee (like the scene from Harry Potter).

  6. Rendezvous: Share goals for each committee

    • Newsletter:
      • More readability through pictures, design, popular articles
      • Biggest and best newsletter ever, with each issue surpassing our previous
      • Learn to be writers, designers and work as a team
      • Be able to create a publication without the committee leader supervising at all times
    • Activities
      • To teach the delegates how to prepare and run programs
      • Become good friends within the committee so that they can independently program during winter and spring quarters
      • The committee as a whole should achieve a closeness extended outside of our meetings.
    • Facilities
      • Cement walk paths near Aldor
      • Get things done!
      • Permanent results
      • Make M.E. prettier
      • Make a difference
    • Services
      • Communication, Cooperation, Teamwork, Trust, Respect, Have Fun
      • Visit kid’s in hospitals, beach clean-up, mentorship, tutoring for kids, convalescent homes, homeless shelters, food drives, soup kitchens, AIDS walk, breast cancer, penny drive, auctions.


  7. Annoucements

    • Sunday, November 3rd: Karaoke Night @ 7:30 p.m. in Gandalf’s
    • Thursday, November 7th: Scholarship Seminar @ 7 p.m. in Gandalf’s
    • Saturday, November 9th: Stranded Weekenders Club Beach Bonfire Party @ 8 p.m. at Corona Del Mar

    • Martin: Mondays, 4-5 p.m., Wednesdays, 6-7 p.m., Thursdays 5-6 p.m.
    • Nimish: Thursdays, 10-11 a.m.
    • Mila: Tuesdays, 1-2 p.m.
    • Mindy: Tuesdays 1-2 p.m.
    • Karen: Thursdays, 3:30-4:30 p.m.
    • Esther: Mondays 10-11 a.m.
