Graduate and Family Apartments
Verano Place Apartments house roughly 1,221 students (some with families) in one-, two-, and three-bedroom unfurnished apartments. Units are equipped with stove and refrigerator, window coverings, carpet, internet, and cable television service. Electricity is included in the rent for all units except those located in the 66000 - 69000 buildings. Residents hold annual leases (ending June 30) that may be renewed pending eligibility requirements. Verano Place houses mainly graduate, law, and medical students, and a limited number of undergraduates over the age of 25 or with families.
Verano Place is located on the east side of campus, within walking distance of classes, a shopping center, and the Anteater Recreation Center. Verano Place has two community centers, a Cyber Café, children's play areas, and plenty of green space. Housing Assistants are available during non-office hours, and the Verano Place Residents Council advocates on community issues and hosts social events throughout the year. A community blog site, The Verano Place, posts regular updates along with policies, resource links, and answers to frequently asked questions.
