GUSH

Executive Board 2007-08

President: Rodney Tse

Rodney

I’m a 4th year Public Health Sciences major and I grew in the small suburb of San Ramon in northern California. With the arrival of GUSH and its first year of elected representatives, we are in a great position to make strides towards making the UCI on-campus housing experience better than it ever was before. I believe it is a very exciting time to be living on campus at UCI, and I intend to take full advantage of all the new opportunities to reach out to residents. Previously, I've been involved in ASUCI, the Volunteer Center (now the Center for Service in Action), UCI’s Academic Senate, as well as other random jobs around campus. In my free time I enjoy running, working with children, and watching Asian movies. Since my first days of living on campus in Middle Earth I have considered Irvine my home, and this year I am honored to serve my constituents. Please feel free contact me if you ever have a concern or just want to say "Hi"!

Vice President: Traci Leung

Traci

I'm Traci Leung from Fresno. I'm majoring in Economics with a minor in History. I got involved with GUSH after my dorm neighbor Carlo Clado recommended me. I had a very memorable freshman year thanks to Snowbourn in Middle Earth Housing, and wanted to continue my participation in housing. I enjoy cooking, dancing and reading.

Treasurer: George Saioc

GeorgeGeorge Saioc is a 5th year International Studies and Economics double major.  He is from Coachella Valley, CA or Bucharest, Romania depending how you look at it.

The problem of being in G.U.S.H. Executive Board is, well, I cannot be a G.U.S.H. Elected Representative or Resident-at-large at the same time. I lay my hungry eyes on all this good stuff we will have available for residents. Take for example the uber cool Microfridge we’ve raffled away because, well, WE ARE GIVING IT AWAY!  It all began last year when we setup our first annual Sand Castle day. As soon as my house mates arrived I left my job and joined them in that frenzy that Sand Castle Day radiates. If you see me involved too much in G.U.S.H. events when I should be behind the counter, it is because; well I just can’t help it!

Communications Chairman: Justin Manalang

Justin

Justin Manalang is a 4th year Civil Engineering major.  He is from the San Fernando Valley, CA.  Currently serving as the Communications Chair, he enjoys every aspect of his job.  In addition to being actively involved in GUSH, he is involved in other organizations  on campus, such as FUSION, Kababayan, and PUSO.

Programming Chairman: Robert Jolly

RobertRobert Jolly is a 4th year Informatics major. Informatics is a branch of computer science that concentrates on computer systems and the individuals that use them.  He currently serves as the Executive Programming Chairman for GUSH.  He also worked on publishing GUSH's website to the net. In addition to serving on the Executive Board he enjoys, fine dining, running, working out, going to the beach, and going to the movies. He is also currently interning as a Test Engineer at Linksys.  Linksys is a company that produces wired and wireless networking technology for home and small business use.

Goals for 2007-2008

The following are goals the GUSH Executive Board would like to accomplish for the 2007-2008 Academic year:

  • Inform undergraduate students of the existence of a centralized governing body that advocates housing related issues for undergraduate residents.
  • Serve as a liaison between Undergraduate housing and other campus departments including ASUCI.
  • Complete the steps necessary in order to become a recognized organization within the National Association of College and University Residence Halls (NACURH)
  • Promote interaction and cohesion between the four UCI housing communities
