Eligibility for Guaranteed Housing

Freshmen who live on-campus for the entire first year are eligible to apply for guaranteed housing for the 2008-09 academic year. 

Students in the Campuswide Honors Program, as well as Regents and Chancellor's Excellence Scholars are also eligible for guaranteed housing. Chancellor's Achievement Scholars are eligible for two years of guaranteed housing.

Continuing students who are not eligible for guaranteed housing can still apply to get on a housing wait-list for 2008-09.

How to Apply

Step 1: Apply for 2008-09 Guaranteed Housing. Window opens at 6 a.m. on November 5 –  and closes at 11:59 p.m. on November 21, 2007

The application will ask you to rank at least three housing options in order of preference.  Students who select Arroyo Vista must also select specific theme houses. If AV is ranked as a first or second choice community, some theme houses will require responses to two brief essay questions. See question #8 in the F.A.Q. for the essay questions.

Guaranteed students who miss the November 21st deadline can still apply and be placed on the Arroyo Vista and Campus Village wait-list.

Non-guaranteed students, may apply online and be placed on the Arroyo Vista and/or Campus Village wait-list beginning on November 5th. Beginning on December 3, non-guaranteed students may also submit a wait-list application directly to Vista del Campo or Vista del Campo Norte. (Download applications from their websites.)

Step 2: Community Assignments

November '07-March '08

Most students who applied in November have been notified of their communitiy assignment; however, because of high demand, the community assignment window has been extended through March 31,2008.  Once you receive your initial housing offer email, follow instructions carefully to complete the application and contract process.

Step 3: Leasing / Housing Contracts

December '06 - March '07

Leases for Vista del Campo and Vista del Campo Norte will be completed between December 2007 and March 2008.

Housing contracts for Arroyo Vista and Campus Village will be completed in March, 2008.

Step 4: Room/Roommate/Apartment Assignments -- March - May '08

Specific room/roommate/apartment assignments will be completed by each community. After signing a 2008-09 housing contract/lease, check with your housing community for more specific information on the process and timeline.
